Project to Improve Harkins Slough Overcrossing in Watsonville Set to Begin Friday, October 16
A project to improve the Harkins Slough Overcrossing in Watsonville is set to begin Friday, October 16.
Flagging operations through the overpass will be used as needed Monday through Friday from 9 am to 3 pm. Signage and concrete barriers will guide and provide safe travel for bicyclists and pedestrians through the project.
This project will widen the bridge to allow safer crossings for pedestrians and bicyclists. Including safe access for Pajaro Valley High School students traveling to school from the west side of the overcrossing as housing is located on the east side of the overcrossing.
The contractor for this $8.9 million project is Granite Construction of Watsonville, CA. This project is expected to be completed by October 20, 2027.
Message and directional signs will alert travelers in advance of any closures. Please allow for extra time for your travels.
